Scopeloid Sco"pe*loid, a. [NL. Scopelus, typical genus (fr. Gr. ? a headland) + -oid.] (Zo["o]l.) Like or pertaining to fishes of the genus Scopelus, or family Scopelod[ae], which includes many small oceanic fishes, most of which are phosphorescent. -- n. (Zo["o]l.) Any fish of the family Scopelid[ae].
