Polyneme Pol"y*neme, n. [Poly- + Gr. ? thread.] (Zo["o]l.) Any one of numerous species of tropical food fishes of the family Polynemid[ae]. They have several slender filaments, often very long, below the pectoral fin. Some of them yield isinglass of good quality. Called also threadfish.

Mango tree (Bot.), an East Indian tree of the genus Mangifera (M. Indica), related to the cashew and the sumac. It grows to a large size, and produces the mango of commerce. It is now cultivated in tropical America.
