Pelting.] [OE. pelten, pulten, pilten, to thrust, throw,
strike; cf. L. pultare, equiv. to pulsare (v. freq. fr.
pellere to drive), and E. pulse a beating.]

pellets or missiles, as, to pelt with stones; pelted with
hail.
