Acciaccatura
Acciaccatura Ac*ciac`ca*tu"ra, n. [It., from acciaccare to
crush.] (Mus.)
A short grace note, one semitone below the note to which it
is prefixed; -- used especially in organ music. Now used as
equivalent to the short appoggiatura.

size, as in the illustration above. It forms no essential
part of the harmony.

tatula, with a purplish tinge of the stem and flowers.

cheeks. The female and young male are dull brown mixed
with blackish on the back; grayish below. Called also
dunbird, dundiver, ruddy diver, stifftail,
spinetail, hardhead, sleepy duck, fool duck,
